1-Year-Old Child Inside Car When It Is Stolen In Westchester: MVPD
A 52-year-old Mount Vernon woman has been charged with kidnapping, grand larceny, and reckless endangerment.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — A Westchester woman was arrested on felony charges after stealing a car with a small child inside, according to police.
The Mount Vernon Police Department arrested 52-year-old Tauna Crump, of Mount Vernon, after she took the vehicle with a one-year-old girl inside, police said.
The disturbing incident happened at around 10:45 a.m. on Monday, at Birch Street and Westchester Avenue.

The vehicle was later located near Mount Vernon Police Department headquarters, where Crump was taken into custody. The child was found safe and was not injured.
Crump has been charged with kidnapping, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was arraigned in Mount Vernon City Court.
