A 13-year-old child suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his hand and leg, police said. He was taken to a trauma center in stable condition.

According to investigators, initial indications are that the incident occurred inside a home and the injuries may have been the result of a self-inflicted accidental discharge. However, police said the direction of the investigation could still change as more evidence is more closely examined.
