15-Year-Old Shot In Yonkers Overnight, Gunman Remains At Large

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect who police said fled the scene after the shooting.

YONKERS, NY — A Westchester teenager was shot twice on the street.

On Wednesday night, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Yonkers police were called to Woodworth Ave. after reports of a man wounded by gunshots.

Officers arriving on the scene found a 15-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to a local trauma center and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators believe that the teenage victim was standing in front of a residential building on Woodworth with several others when a suspect approached them, displayed a handgun, and fired at least three gunshots towards them, striking the victim at least two times. The suspect then fled the scene.

Investigators are working to identify and apprehend the suspect. Police are also trying determine any possible motives for the attack.
