The two suspects who attempted to escape on foot, were in posession of a Smith and Wesson 9mm semi-automatic pistol which was also recovered, according to police. Investigators believe that this was not a random act, and the group may have been targeted in relation to group violence.
Detectives developed probable cause to charge the two suspects with the shooting.
Leroy Gibbs, age 19, and Jeremiah Hughes, age 20, both residents of Yonkers, were booked on one count each of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
