20-Year-Old Mount Vernon Man Shot In Leg, Gunman Remains At Large
Police said the victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and is expected to make a complete recovery.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Mount Vernon police are investigating a shooting that has left a 20-year-old injured.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mount Vernon police were called to the 100 block of West 4th St. on a report of shots fired with injuries. Police discovered one victim, later identified as 20-year-old Jaheim Vassel, of Mount Vernon, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. Vassel was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to make a complete recovery.
Police said no arrests have been made yet in connection with the gun violence.

Mount Vernon police are asking anyone with information about yesterday evening's incident to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510.
