25 Best Hudson Valley High Schools: U.S. News Rankings 2016

A just-released report ranks 25 Hudson Valley public high schools among nation's top 1,000. Did Mount Vernon make the list?

U.S. News & World Report has just released its top public high schools list nationwide and the good news is 25 Hudson Valley high schools made the top 1,000 list.

A total of 21,000 public high schools across the country were ranked based on student performance on state assessments and graduation rates and how well prepared they were for college.

Nationwide, the top 5 list includes: No. 1, Schools for the Talented and Gifted, Texas, No. 2, BASIS Scottsdale, Arizona, No. 3, BASIS Tucson North, Arizona, No. 4, School of Science and Engineering, Texas, and No. 5, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia.
