4 Shot In Overnight Gun Violence While Attending Vigil In Mount Vernon
Four people were wounded in a shooting on Tuesday night, just before 9:30 p.m. near South 8th Avenue, according to MVPD.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Four people were shot in violence at a vigil on Tuesday night.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., gunfire broke out in the 300 block of South 8th Ave., according to the Mount Vernon Police Department.
Police were called to the scene after multiple gunshot victims were reported. They found four wounded victims.

All four victims were transported to Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx for treatment.
One victim is currently listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head, and the other three victims are all listed in stable condition after suffering non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

All four victims are New York City residents, according to police. Their identities are being withheld by authorities.
Mount Vernon Police Department detectives are investigating this incident with the assistance of the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center.
