YONKERS, NY — A resident who was in Yonkers Criminal Court on an unrelated matter Wednesday was placed by Yonkers Police detectives investigating a shooting on Warburton Avenue Saturday night.

Police said Eddie C. Jackson, Jr., a 23-year-old resident of Lincoln Terrace, had been identified as a suspect in the shooting by detectives who interviewed witnesses and recovered surveillance video.

Jackson is alleged to have approached a group of men in front of 325 Warburton Ave. and displayed a handgun, firing several shots directed at a 24-year-old victim and striking him at least two times before fleeing.

Detectives believe that this incident was the culmination of previous on-going disputes between the two men. In addition to arresting Jackson, detectives executed a search warrant in an effort to locate the handgun and recover additional evidence.

The investigation is on-going and additional information may be released as it becomes available, police said.
