Crash Brings Saw Mill To Standstill, 2 Fatalities Confirmed: WCPD
At least three cars were involved in the collisions with rollovers and an SUV being thrown from the roadway in Yonkers.

YONKERS, NY — A gruesome multi-car crash brought the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers to a standstill and cost the lives of at least two motorists, according to initial reports.
Although the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the highway, the Saw Mill remains closed in both directions near McLean Avenue throughout the afternoon on Sunday as a result of the fatal three-car collision, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The accident occurred just north of the McLean Avenue overpass, according to the Yonkers Police Department. The collision happened just after 2 p.m., the NYSDOT reported.

Sunday afternoon, the Westchester County Police Department confirmed that two people were killed in the wreck.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling southbound on the parkway lost control, went through an opening in the center median’s concrete divider and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.

The driver of each vehicle was killed.
Two passengers in the northbound vehicle were injured. In addition, the driver of the third vehicle, which was also traveling northbound, was injured when a secondary collision occurred after the initial accident.
An SUV rolled on top of another vehicle and a third car left the highway and ended up in the woods, according to a report from Inside Yonkers.
The full circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the Patrol Services Division and its Accident Investigation Team.
