Cuomo Endorses Patterson-Howard For Mayor In Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, NY--- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced his endorsement of Democratic mayoral nominee Shawyn Patterson-Howard in the race for mayor of Mount Vernon.

“Economic development has been a key priority of my administration, and Shawyn’s commitment to revitalizing Mount Vernon is clear and aligned with my goals for the state,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo. “She’s laid out a vision for restoring the city’s credit rating, cultivating public private partnerships, and supporting local entrepreneurs that will strengthen Mount Vernon and its residents. I’m proud to endorse her as the next mayor of the great city of Mount Vernon.”

“I’m honored by the Governor’s endorsement,” said Democratic mayoral nominee Shawyn Patterson-Howard. “Like the Governor, I believe that economic development must ensure prosperity for all. I look forward to working with Governor Cuomo and his administration to renew our city and diversify its economic base.”

This is the latest high profile endorsement for seasoned public sector executive Shawyn Patterson, who has amassed a slew of endorsements including Westchester County Executive George Latimer, New York State Nurses Association, Westchester County Department Corrections Superior Officers Association, Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association (Westchester County C.O.B.A.), Eleanor’s Legacy, United Black Clergy, and more.
