MOUNT VERNON, NY — One 2-year-old girl has died and her twin severely injured in what police say was a beating by their father. Their mother, three months pregnant, was out at a doctor's appointment.
Darren J. Morris, 23, is due in Mount Vernon City Court this morning, The Journal News reported. TJN said he faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Addison died and Annalynn is in critical condition.
The girls and their mom had moved in with Morris a month ago after suffering lead poisoning in their Bridgeport, CT home, the paper reported.
