Elderly Pedestrian Struck and Killed Early Morning: YPD

YONKERS, NY — A man was hit and killed by a car in the roadway early shortly before 6 a.m. this morning.

Yonkers Police are investigating the accident near Fort Hill Avenue and Young Avenue. The 69-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed shortly before 5:45 a.m. this morning, according to police. The driver reportedly remained at scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Police said the preliminary indications are that the vehicle accidentally struck the elderly man who was in the roadway. There are no immediate indications of foul play, authorities said.
