Electric Company Seeks 4 Apprentices

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Rondout Electric, Inc. will conduct a recruitment from May 13, 2019, through May 24, 2019, for four electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Applications can be obtained and submitted at Rondout Electric, Inc., 225 Upper North Road, Highland, NY, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, during the recruitment period.

The Committee requires that applicants:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Apprentices may be required to drive company-owned vehicles on public roads.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
