Fatal Pre-Nap Beating For Toddler: DA
The father is being held at the Westchester County Jail.

MOUNT VERNON, NY -- A Mount Vernon man is accused of beating his 2-year-old son so badly before putting him down for a nap that the child died.
Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced the arraignment of Lloyd Scott for the murder of his son in their East Lincoln Avenue home in April. Scott was indicted by a Grand Jury on charges of Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony, and two counts of Manslaughter in the First Degree, class B felonies. He was arraigned Friday before Westchester County Court Judge Anne Minihan. Lloyd pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors allege that on April 16, Scott was alone with his 2-year-old son while the boy’s mother was at work. During that time, he beat the child, put him in bed, and when the mother returned home from work told her the boy was sleeping.
