Former Mount Vernon Police Chief Suspended
He has to report to HQ every morning during the suspension.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — A former Mount Vernon police chief has been suspended without pay. The suspension of Capt. Richton Ziadie was due to an ongoing investigation into the department's abuse of overtime, according to the police commissioner.
Ziadie was required to turn in police department property and has to report in person to headquarters every morning during the suspension, the Journal New reported.
Overtime in the department is over budget, but Ziadie's OT was thought to be more than previous chiefs received, the Journal News said.
