Former Police Officer Gets 3 Months For High-Speed Fatal Hutch Crash
The off-duty Mount Vernon police officer was driving more than 120 m.p.h. when he rear-ended a car, causing a chain reaction crash.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A former Mount Vernon police officer learned of his sentence today for causing a fatal chain reaction crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Former Mount Vernon police officer Antoine Henrys was sentenced to three months in jail and five years of probation for the collision he caused, while off-duty, by driving in excess of 120 miles-per-hour on the Hutchinson River Parkway. The crash resulted in the death of 52- year-old White Plains resident John Osario.
"Our hearts go out to the victim’s family," Rocah said. "We are disappointed that the Court did not agree with our recommendation that a sentence of state prison be imposed to hold the defendant accountable for causing the victim’s death by his unquestionably dangerous driving."
