Have Your Say: Survey on $1.4M Block Grant Uses In Mt Vernon
Keep in mind this may be the last, as the Trump administration wishes to eliminate the programs.

From the City of Mount Vernon: The City of Mount Vernon, NY invites citizens, public agencies and other interested parties to participate in the development of the City's 2018 HUD Annual Action Plan by attending a public hearing on January 31, 2018 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Mount Vernon City Hall
(1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, NY 10550).
The purpose of the hearing is to: (1) obtain the views and comments from individuals and organizations regarding the overall housing and community development needs of the City; and (2) receive input on the re-programming of Community Development Block Grant funds from Fiscal Year 2014, Fiscal Year 2015, and Fiscal Year 2016.
You are invited to share your opinion by completing this brief survey and/or attending the January 31, 2018 Public Hearing.
The On-line Survey is available here.
In Fiscal Year 2017, the City was allocated $1,435,516 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and $355,206 in HOME Investment Partnership Program funding. Given that these are formula-based programs, amounts have remained similar year to year. Please be advised, however, that President Donald Trump's budget blueprint has proposed the complete elimination of the FY2018 CDBG and HOME Programs. Nevertheless, applications are being made available should Congress choose to continue funding these programs.
All citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties may either attend this hearing or provide written comments. Persons requiring assistance due to hearing, speech, or vision impairments should notify the Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency by calling 914-699-7230 or emailing Shaniece Johnson at: Sajohnson@ci.mount-vernon.ny.us.
