Homeless Woman Tried To Murder Her Sister
The ambush took place in the lobby of their mother's building.

A homeless Westchester resident who ambushed her sister in the lobby of their mother's apartment buildinghas admitted guilt in the attempted murder, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced yesterday.
Yosaury Camilo, 24, pleaded guilty before Judge Barry Warhit to one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a class “B” Violent Felony.
The victim dropped her daughter, Camilo's niece, off at the bus stop at about 8 a.m. Oct. 13, 2016 and walked back to her mother’s house at 27 Saratoga Avenue in Yonkers. She opened the front door, entered the lobby, and was ambushed by her sister.

Camilo was carrying a folding knife, prosecutors said. She threatened her sister and then began to repeatedly stab and slash at her. During the assault, the victim was knocked to the ground, at which time Camilo jumped on top of her, held her down and continued to stab her.
A good Samaritan heard the victim screaming, witnessed the defendant attacking her sister and called 9-1-1.

When members of the Yonkers Police Department arrived at the scene, they located the victim and rendered aid. She was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where she was treated for her injuries, which included lacerations to her hands, head, face and abdomen. She underwent two surgeries and remained hospitalized for five days.
Camilo fled the scene in her car. She was arrested the following day in the Bronx.
After her guilty plea Camilo was sent to county jail. She faces up to 25 years in state prison. She will be sentenced on Oct. 19, 2017.
