Icy Crashes Kill One, Cause 20-Car Pile-Up, Spin-Outs

All roads are icy, said Westchester police asking people not to drive.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Crashes across Westchester County Wednesday morning killed one person and left roads and parkways unpassable.

"Stay off the roads if you can," Westchester County police said on Facebook.

A massive pile-up closed the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway in Pelham near Boston Post Road. Conditions were so bad that a fire truck, an ambulance and a patrol car that had responded to the scene were each struck by vehicles that slid on ice, police said.
