Mount Vernon Man Charged With Murder After Double Shooting

Donovan Brown was shot in the face and killed outside The Modern on March 14. Tasjawn "Tay" White, was charged on Friday.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A 19-year-old Mount Vernon man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of another man outside a new apartment complex, media outlets reported.

Donovan Brown, 24, was shot in the face and killed outside The Modern on South Macquesten Parkway in the early morning hours of March 14, police said. Another person was also hurt.

Tasjawn "Tay" White was arrested in connection with the shooting. He was charged on Friday in Mount Vernon City Court with second-degree murder, the Journal-News reported. White was also charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Court records showed he remained held without bail at the Westchester County jail on Monday and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

A second person wanted in connection with the shooting has not been caught.
