Mount Vernon Man Indicted Over Easter Sunday Arson
Prosecutors allege he burnt a house to the ground because he had a dispute with someone who lived there.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — Lamont Riddenhour was arraigned Monday following his indictment by a Westchester County Grand Jury for setting a house fire on Easter Sunday.
The 43-year-old appeared before Judge Susan Cacace, said Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. Riddenhour is charged with:
- Arson in the Second Degree, a class B felony
- Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a class D felony
Bail was continued at $50,000 cash, $300,000 bond or $500,000 partially secured bond. His next court date is Sept. 1.

Prosecutors alleged that at 9 a.m. April 12 Riddenhour set a fire that burned a three-story private home on South Tenth Avenue to the ground because he had a dispute with an occupant of the house. There were no injuries.
Mount Vernon Fire Department worked until late afternoon to extinguish the blaze but could not save the structure.
