Mount Vernon Police Ask For Information About Overnight Shooting

MOUNT VERNON, NY — On Tuesday, just after 9:31 p.m., Mount Vernon Police Department patrol units responded to a report of shots fired at on W 3rd Street.

Officers discovered multiple shell casings in the parking lot of the location. A male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, had already managed to get himself to the Mount Vernon ER. He was treated and has been released.

Police are asking anyone with information about last night's shooting to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510. Police say all calls will be kept confidential. Anonymous tips can also be sent via MVPD's "Text-A-Tip" by texting "MVPD" and the tip to 847411. Information can also be sent anonymously using the "Mount Vernon PD" app, available in the Google Play and Apple stores.
