Mount Vernon Readies for Memorial Day Ceremony, Parade
A wreath-laying ceremony will take place at City Hall at 8:30 a.m.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — Mount Vernon's 2017 Memorial Day Parade is on Monday. One of the floats will be carrying a full swing band, and the biggest addition to the parade this year is the larger than life Macy's style balloons!
The day starts at 8:30 a.m. with a wreath laying ceremony at City Hall, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country's freedom. The parade will commence promptly at 9:30 a.m. from Prospect and Park Avenue. Everyone is encouraged to join the morning's events, and watch the floats and acts as they march up along the parade route. It ends at Hartley Park.
