“This event is part of Mt. Vernon City School District’s continuing effort to educate the whole child,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Hamilton in an announcement about the event. “Without proper nutrition and regular physical activity, children aren’t able to reach their fullest potential. This family fun day is a great way to kick off a healthy school year!”

Additional fair activities include group line dancing and zumba lessons. There will also be performances by local artists and students, healthy living demonstrations, and information vendors including the Mount Vernon Farmers Market and Montefiore Medical Center.
