WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Motorists will soon be saying goodbye to the temporary bridge that has served as a detour over the Hutch for months.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is alerting drivers that a new traffic pattern is expected on the East Lincoln Ave. bridge over the Hutchinson River Parkway in the City of Mount Vernon/Village of Pelham, beginning Saturday.

Traffic is expected to shift slightly to the north onto the new bridge and off the temporary bridge. The new bridge was constructed as part of the ongoing replacement and rehabilitation project in lower Westchester.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a drivers license suspension.
