Overnight Double Homicide: Cops Look For Witnesses To Shootings
One victim was rushed to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital and later died. A second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — Mount Vernon Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting that left two dead early Tuesday morning.
Just after midnight, Mount Vernon police were called to S. Fifth Ave. on a report of shots fired. Officers arriving on the scene found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim was rushed to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital and later died. A second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are withholding the identities of the dead until their families are notified.
Mount Vernon police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510. Police said all calls will be kept confidential. Tips can also submitted anonymously tip through the MVPD "Text-A-Tip" by texting "MVPD" and the tip to 847411. Tips can also be submitted anonymously using the "Mount Vernon PD" app, available in the Google Play and Apple store.
