Performer Falls During Circus Show In Mount Vernon: VIDEO
The incident occurred during an acrobatic act on the Wheel of Death.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A UniverSoul Circus performer fell during a show in Mount Vernon on Sunday. The performer, whose name was not released, was hospitalized for observation and treatment. No shows have been cancelled.

Here is the statement released by Mount Vernon Fire Department Commissioner Teddy Beale.
"Earlier today, a performer at UniverSoul Circus fell during a show. The performer is in stable condition, awake and alert and was transported to an area hospital for observation and treatment. EMS were on-scene and responded within seconds. The show resumed and all remaining shows are expected to continue as scheduled. Mount Vernon’s first responders remain on-scene as they do for all major public events in accordance with departmental protocol."
UniverSoul is a combination of circus arts, theater, and music spanning genres including Pop, Classic R&B, Latin, Hip Hop, Jazz and Gospel. It features a cast of international performers.

The circus was founded in Atlanta by concert and theatre promoter Cedric Walker.
Now in its 24th season, UniverSoul Circus boasts some of the most phenomenal acts to grace center ring, including viral internet sensations Fresh the Clowns from Detroit. Fresh the Clowns and their energetic and infectious dance moves became a YouTube sensation with their popular dance, “JuJu On That Beat,” garnering 40+million views.
