Police Investigating Reports Of Gunfire, No Victims Have Come Forward

Police are asking anyone with information about the gunfire incident to contact the MVPD Detective Division.

MOUNT VERNON, NY —Reports of gunfire on Thursday afternoon have police looking for answers.

The Mount Vernon Police Department says that at around 12:46 p.m. on Thursday, they received reports of shots fired in front of 137 S. 4th Ave. However, there were no reports of any victims.

The Mount Vernon Police Department says it "is actively investigating this matter to gather all relevant information and ensure the safety and security of our community."

Mount Vernon police are asking anyone with information about the gunfire to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510. Police said all calls will be kept confidential. Tips can also submitted anonymously tip through the MVPD "Text-A-Tip" by texting "MVPD" and the tip to 847411. Tips can also be submitted anonymously using the "Mount Vernon PD" app, available in the Google Play and Apple store.
