Relationship With 14-Year-Old Leads To Prison Cell
She told police he was also abusive.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — A 28-year-old who had a sexual relationship with a Mount Vernon teen was sentenced to prison for rape.
Jorge Moran-Gaspar of the Bronx pleaded guilty to third-degree rape, a felony, in April. Tuesday, he was sentenced to serve four years in state prison with 10 years post-release supervision after which he must register as a sex offender. Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace presided.
The teen reported the sexual relationship with Moran-Gaspar in May 2018. It had begun when she was 14. Moran-Gaspar had also been physically abusive which is what prompted the victim to seek assistance from law enforcement, prosecutors said.

An investigation was commenced, during which Moran-Gaspar admitted to the Mount Vernon Police that he had sex with the victim when she was 14 years old. He was arrested June 2, 2018.
The case was prosecuted by Amit Parab of the Special Prosecutions Division.
