See Lucky Duckies Rescued After Quacking For Help From Below
Good Samaritans and Yonkers Public Works crews helped get these web-footed mischief-makers out of a bind and back in a row.

YONKERS, NY — After a family of adorable ducklings found themselves in a bit of predicament, neighbors stepped in and the city pulled out all the stops to mount a subterranean rescue.
Neighbors in the Crestwood neighborhood of Yonkers heard the ducklings in distress by way of an unusual amount of panicked quacking. It turns out the fuzzy brood had fallen inside a storm sewer catch basin on Scarsdale Road at Lindbergh Place.
No need to fear for our billed heroes — this duck tale has a happy ending.

The cavalry soon arrived as members of the Yonkers Department of Public Works came to the rescue. Robert Agostino, Brian Zengen and Angelo Nuccio removed the grate, climbed down to the bottom of the basin and rescued the nine ducklings.
Their mom was waiting nervously to be reunited at a nearby brook. The duckings, however, didn't appear especially traumatized by the crisis and let their worries roll away like water off a duck's back.
