Shooting Victim Rushed To Jacobi, Shooter Remains At Large

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A shooting on a city street has left a Westchester County man fighting for his life and a gunman at large.

The Mount Vernon Police Department says it is investigating a shooting that took place in the area of S. Fulton Ave. and Edison Ave.

Officers who responded to the scene found a man with a gunshot wound to his left abdomen. He was stabilized on the scene and rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx for treatment.

MVPD detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510. Police say all calls will be kept confidential. Anonymous tips can also be sent via MVPD's "Text-A-Tip" by texting "MVPD" and the tip to 847411. Information can also be sent anonymously using the "Mount Vernon PD" app, available in the Google Play and Apple stores.
