YONKERS, NY — A Yonkers man whose street robberies victimized an 11-year-old and hospitalized another has been found guilty by a jury.
William Hines, 64, was found guilty of robbing three victims and assaulting one of them. Specifically, the jury found Hines guilty of the following:
- Robbery in the Second Degree, a class C violent felony
- Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Violent Felony
- Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony
- Robbery in the Third Degree, a class D felony
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, a misdemeanor
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 21.

At 5:40 p.m. Jan. 6, in the area of Palisade Avenue and Walsh Road, Hines stole money from an 11-year-old boy.
At 12:30 a.m. Feb. 4, on Elm Street, Hines forcibly stole money from the victim. During the course of the robbery, he repeatedly punched the victim in the face, which required hospitalization.
On Feb. 12, he forcibly stole money from the victim on Ashburton Avenue.
Assistant District Attorney John Astarita of the Superior Court Trial Division prosecuted the case.
