Teenager From NC Killed In Yonkers Weekend Shooting: Police

Police responding to reports of gunfire Saturday night discovered a dead gunshot victim at the scene. The shooter has not been found.

YONKERS, NY — A Saturday night shooting left an 18-year-old North Carolina man dead.

Police responding to reports of gunshots near Cliff Street found a teenager dead with a bullet wound just after 9 p.m. Investigators said no arrests have yet been made in connection with the fatal shooting.

Streets in the area remained closed to cars and pedestrians into the early hours of Sunday morning. Detectives from the Major Case Squad, Crime Scene Unit and Digital Forensics Unit continue to investigate the weekend's gun violence.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim.

This incident marks the second fatal shooting in Yonkers in as many weeks. Two victims were shot in the early morning hours of July 5. One of the victims died as a result.
