Travel Alert: Icy Conditions, Water Main Break Close Exit Ramp
Officials said the exit ramp on I-87 was closed "out of an abundance of caution." Detours remained in place with signs directing traffic.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — A combination of a water main break and frigid temperatures forced officials to temporarily close a busy Westchester exit ramp.
Out of an abundance of caution, the northbound Thruway (I-87) exit 1 ramp (Hall Place — McLean Avenue) in Yonkers is closed due to icing conditions, according to the New York State Thruway Authority. Electronic variable message signs are in use approaching the ramp and detour signs have been posted.
The good news is that the detour route took motorists just half a mile out of their way.
