Yonkers Schools Cancels Remote Learning Due To Snow

Even though students were to attend classes virtually, the district announced a snow cancelation to keep teachers to safe.

YONKERS, NY — Due to heavy snowfall expected to impact the region overnight and into Friday morning, schools and community organizations are implementing severe weather plans.

Even though students ween't reporting to classrooms this week in Yonkers schools, teachers were working from the schools. The decision was made to cancel classes

A two-hour delay on Friday, Jan. 7, was initially announced by the district to allow staff to make it to work safely as a snowstorm bears down on the Hudson Valley. Schools that begin at 7:30 a.m will begin remote instruction at 9:30 a.m. Schools that begin at 8:30 a.m will begin remote instruction at 10:30 a.m.
