Arctic Blast Arrives Monday, Wind Chills Below Zero Tuesday
Get set for a frigid return to work as winter finally arrives in full force in the lower Hudson Valley.
The record-breaking warm temperatures of December are now a thing of the past as an Arctic air blast makes its way to the Hudson Valley.
The National Weather Service predicts temperatures overnight Sunday into Monday will drop -- to the lower 30s along the Sound shore to the mid-20s to the west and north. Daytime highs Monday will be in the upper 20s with north winds gusting up to 25 mph.
The temperature will fall into the mid-teens Monday night and with wind gusts nearing 30 mph, wind chill temperatures could go below zero into Tuesday morning, the NWS says.

You will need your full winter wardrobe for Tuesday morning. At 7 a.m., the temperature will be in the teens and the wind chill could make it feel 15 degrees colder than that.
“This air will be the coldest of the season thus far, which might not seem like much on paper, but it will deliver significantly low temperatures,” AccuWeather Chief Long Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.
