UPDATE: After Bomb Threat Student Faces Terrorism Charge

The threat was called in at 10:30 a.m., Ramapo police said.

UPDATE: Glen Tyrese Edwards was arraigned on two charges in the Village of New Hempstead Justice Court. He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.


SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Ramapo High School student is under arrest over a bomb threat Friday. Ramapo police said they received a 911 call claiming there was a bomb at Ramapo High School at about 10:30 a.m.

The police departent, Rockland County Sheriff's Bomb Unit, Monsey FD, Spring Hill Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics responded to ensure the safety of the students and staff.

Also, Ramapo police conducted an investigation at the school, 'pinged' and located the phone that the call was made from.

They then arrested a student, Glen Tyrese Edwards of Spring Valley. The 17-year-old was charged with Falsely Reporting and Incident 2 (E-felony) and Making a Terroristic Threat (D-felony).

The Bomb Unit searched the school and reported they did not find a bomb. The FD, Medics and Ambulance stood-by as a precaution. Police said the Ramapo High School staff were cooperative in the investigation.

There were no reported injuries.
