Clarkstown Supervisor Alexander J. Gromack declared a State of Emergency (attached) in the Town of Clarkstown effective 5:00 pm today, January 26, 2015, due to predicted snow accumulations up to 24 inches, severe winds, and related weather conditions, as well as expected potential damage associated with blizzard conditions. A State of Emergency gives the Supervisor additional powers to effectively respond to the emergency. At the present time the Supervisor has not issued any emergency orders associated with this declaration.
Residents are reminded to remove any vehicles from the roadway, as this slows down the snow removal process. Again, no cars are permitted to be parked in the street.
Residents are encouraged to call the Clarkstown Police Department for any emergency during the storm. The police will coordinate with town departments for their response if needed.
