Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Family Best Bets of the Week:

Fuzzoodles Make and Take

Where/When: ; Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Get your crafting on with these cute fuzzy creatures! Plus, every Wednesday is now Summer Fun Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. until the end of August!

Price: Free!  

Playtime

Where/When: , Monday thru Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Sometimes it rains, but that doesn't mean your kids have any less energy. Take them to Wee Play where they can run around until their heart's content!

Price: $10 for members, $14 for non-members

- Homegrown String Band at the Pearl River Public Library

When/Where: On Sunday, Jun. 12 at 3 p.m., Pearl River Public Library on Franklin Ave. will present the musical stylings of family music group, Homegrown String Band.

Why Go: This one-hour musical program will include down home traditional Appalachian music with clog and buck dancing from this four piece family string group playing fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar.

- Suddenly Summer with Danna Banana

When/Where: Tuesday, Jun. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Story Time Room at the Pearl River Public Library.

Why Go: Kick off summer with the dulcet tones of Danna Banana. This program is geared to children up to age 6 accompanied by an adult.

Pricing: Free. No registration required.

- Fat Tire Festival @ Blue Mountain Reservation

Why Go: A great Mountain Bike festival for the whole family.  Music, fun, races (kids and teens).  Ride the trails, enjoy the demonstrations and much more.

When/Where: Sunday, June 12th. 10am-4pm. Peekskill, NY.

- Rockland Gay Pride Celebration

Why Go: All are welcome at this lively festival.  Free and family friendly, this annual event draws crowds for a great day of fun. Vendors, hip hop dance workshop, singing, children’s activities, and face painting.

When/Where: Sunday, June 12th.  11:30am-5pm. Nyack, NY.

- Suffern Fishing Derby

Why Go: Catch and release fishing competition for kids 13 and under.

When/Where: Saturday, June 11th. 9am. Suffern, NY.

- Summer Ice Skating at Congers Lake Memorial Park

Why Go: Choose from outdoor skating in summer-like heat or useing the roller rink. Music and games. Limted number of skates available. Open to 5th and 6th graders

Where/When: Friday, June 10 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Congers Lake Memorial Park - "The Wheel Park"

- KidsRun2

Why Go: Even if you and your family haven't signed up for the 2-mile walk/run, you can cheer on friends and enjoy the health fair hosted by Clarkstown PTA Council

Where/When: Saturday, June 11 from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Rockland Lake State Park

- Children's Garden Club

Why Go: Seedlings planted in outdoor garden by children, admire garden art and posters

When/Where: Sunday, June 12 at 3 p.m. at New City Library, 220 N. Main Street, New City
