Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Family Best Bets of the Week:

- Gaming Club

Where/When: Hobbytown USA; Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Kids can just show up alone or with friends and play all sorts of board games and card games!

Price: Free.  

Parents Survival Night

Where/When: Little Gym on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Why Go: Kids ages 3 to 12 years old are kept entertained while Mom and Dad can go out and see that movie they've been talking about!

Price: $25 for members, $30 for non-members

Why Go: This fundraiser for Upper Nyack Elementary School promises carnival games, prizes, homemade food, arts and crafts, raffles and a lot of fun for the whole family.

When/Where: Saturday, May 21. 11am-3pm. Upper Nyack, NY.

- Family Campout

Why Go: Grab a tent and some sleeping bags and register soon for this family weekend campout at Congers Lake Memorial Park.

When/Where: Friday, May 20 after 4pm - Sunday, May 22 at 10am. Congers, NY.

Why Go: Nyack’s Amazing Grace Circus will host a benefit afternoon of medieval circus fun, food and music.  Comedy jousting, acrobats, aerialists, and more!  Proceeds will fund outreach programs of Grace Church Nyack.

When/Where: Saturday, May 21st. Noon-6pm. Grace Church. Nyack, NY.

Where/When: 401 N. Middletown Rd. in Pearl River;
Sunday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain date is Jun. 12.

Why Go?: All proceeds from this annual charity event will benefit Meals on Wheels. With an on-site deejay and food, this event offers fun for the whole family and is open to all cars and trucks. Categories include Best Antique Car, Best Classic Car, Best Late Model Car, Best Paint, Best of Show, People's Choice, Best Stock Truck and Best Modified Truck. - 2011 Battle of the Books

Where/When: Pearl River Library; Wednesday, May 18 from 4 – 5 p.m.

Why Go?: Children and young adults, ages 12-18 who like to read and enjoy competitive trivia, are invited to join this year’s “Battle of the Books.” This is the first meeting, so bring a friend and let the battle begin.

- Girls Day and Boys Day at the Pearl River Library

Where/When: Storytime Room at the Pearl River Library;
Thursday, May 19 from 4 – 5 p.m.

Why Go?: Celebrate the Japanese spring holidays of Girls Day and Boys Day. Children are welcome to bring a favorite doll, action figure or stuffed friend to the celebration.

- Relief for Japan Soccer Clinic

Where: Clarkstown South High School turf field

When: Saturday, May 21
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for kindergarten to 4th graders
12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 5th to 8th graders

- New City Library Elementary Art Show

When: Saturday, May 21; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
