Here are some fun things to do with the kids this week.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Family Best Bets of the Week:

Where/When:   Friday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: There will be a bouncy house, arcade games, and an outdoor screening of Rango!

- Children's Storytime

Where/When: Barnes and Noble; Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Why Go: Kick back, relax and hear a great story with other kids!

- Pep Rally

Where/When: Zukor Park, North Main Street, Thursday, August 4, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go:  Show your New City spirit! Cheer on the New City Little League 11-12 Year Old All Stars. The East Coast Regional Champions are on their way to play in the Little League World Series in Portland, OR. Join the pep rally.

- Family Friendly Walk

Where/When: Demarest Kill Park, New Hempstead Road, Saturday, August 6, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Why Go: Get out, exercise, meet some neighbors and enjoy the park. Guided half mile walk, scavenger hunt, bark rubbings, nature games, coloring activities, clown and prizes

- Home Aides Swap-O-Rama-Rama

Where/When: Germonds Neighborhood Church, 39 Germonds Road, New City, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, August 6.

Why Go: Bring unwanted clothing and accessories and pick out “new” items. Learn how to recycle used clothing creatively. Event benefits the Home Aides of Rockland.

- Second Annual Chance Cosgrove Golf Outing

When/Where: Rockland Country Club at 380 Route 9W in Sparkill; Monday, August 8. Day begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. and Tee-off at 12:30 p.m.

Details: Family can participate in this event too! Rockland Country Club’s Olympic-size pool will be open during the day (all children must be supervised by a parent or guardian). BBQ lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. While the golfers hit the links, families can soak up the sun and listen to music by the pool: all this and more for just $30 per person. Dinner at the Club for non-players will be $100 per adult and $45 per youth; kids may order an a la carte dinner for $20. For more information, please email ChanceCosgroveFoundation@gmail.com.

Pricing: The cost for this event is $250 per adult ($175 for kids 12 and under). This price includes entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, a riding cart, lunch, gift package for each player, banquet dinner and various awards. - Bowling Fundraiser at Pearl River Lanes

When/Where: Friday, Aug. 5 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 7 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Why Go?: Proceeds from this bowling fundraiser will go to Linda Parvis, a Rockland County resident and mother who is battling cancer. For more information, please email lifeandlove4linda@gmail.com.

Pricing: $30 per person, includes two games, shoe rental, a raffle ticket, a soda and a slice of pizza; $20 if you don’t bowl, plus five raffle tickets, a soda and a slice.
