Where/When: Nanuet Library; Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. until May 26th
Why Go: A toddler friendly activity where they can make sock people, plant seeds, and launch butterflies!

Where/When: The Sports Place on Fridays from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Why Go: Kids ages 7 to 14 years old get to go out and have a safe environment featuring sports, inflatables, mini golf, laser tag and more!

- The Billy Kayser Witness to Hope Blood Drive
Where/When: Toner Hall at St. Margaret Church on Sunday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go?: The Billy Kayser Witness to Hope Committee is sponsoring a blood drive to benefit The Good Samaritan Hospital Blood Bank. All donations will remain for those in need in Rockalnd County. Billy Kayser gave the gift of life through organ donation and this event pays tribute to Billy and celebrates the wonderful gift of life.

- Living Green in Rockland: 2011 Environmental Day
Where/When: Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority located one mile north of Suffern Railroad Station on Torne Valley Rd. in Hillburn. Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain or shine.
Why Go? This is a great event for families to learn how to go green through environmental demonstrations and by speaking with green exhibitors. Tours available of the recycling center, so you and your family can see where your recyclables go. In addition, there will be entertainment for kids, including a balloon artist, face painting, a bouncy castle, story-telling, music, puppets, crafts, games and more.

Why Go: Billed as a “Music, Arts & Health Festival for Women & Families”, this giant event has fun and education for the whole family. Exhibitors range from holistic wellness to Suburbia Roller Derby. There will be jewelry, pet products, spa information, food booths, etc. All outdoors at the amazing Kensico Dam.
When/Where: Saturday, May 14th. 11am-5pm. Kensico Dam Valhalla, NY.

Why Go: Learn about recycling in Rockland with a tour of the Recycling Center, view demonstrations and an environmental film. This fun day promises food, music, games, crafts, and give-a-ways.

- Riverkeeper’s 21st Shad Festival and Hudson River Celebration
Why Go: Great live music, the best local food, birds of prey, and fun for the kids (eco-arts and crafts, petting zoo, yoga). A local tradition not to be missed.
