Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Why Go: A family friendly performance of the show will keep eveyone entertained!

- PJ Storytime at the New City Library

Why Go:  Get comfy and go in your pajamas to the library to sing, listen to stories and make new friends.

- Teen Pool Party at Germonds

Why Go: Open to 12-17 year olds, Swimming and DJ music.

- 24th Annual Women’s Distance Festival at Rockland Lake State Park

Why Go: Races to benefit the Rockland Family Shelter. Kids Fun Run and Women only 5K race/walk. Awards given out.

When/Where: Saturday, July 9th. Reigstration opens at 6:30 a.m. Kids Fun Run starts at 8 .m. 5K begins at 8 a.m. Walkers start at 8:05 a.m..

- Irish Family Festival

When/Where: Saturday, July 9 from 11 a.m.
until “late.” Anderson Field, located in Orangeburg just off Veterans Memorial Drive. Turn right into Veteran Memorial Park (Hunt Road) and make the first right to the field.

Why Go?: Proceeds to benefit students of Pearl River Irish Music
Teachers, who will represent the U.S. at the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Cavan, Ireland in August. In addition, there will be relay races, sack races, and face painting for kids as well as live music and food for all. Call 845-735-1205 for more information.

Pricing: $20 for adults. Children under 16 are free when accompanied by an adult.

- Teen Gaming at the Pearl River Library

When/Where: Wednesday, July 6 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.;
Pearl River Library, 80 Franklin Avenue.

Why Go?: Teens in grades six through 12 are invited to bring their friends and play the latest Wii video and board games.

- Outside Summer Ice Skating @ Congers Lake Park

Why Go: Yes, OUTSIDE summer ice skating at the rink at Conger’s Lake Park.  Enjoy this family skating session, music and games. The roller rink will also be open. A limited number of skate rentals will be available.

Why Go: Bring the family and enjoy a fun day of tennis, games and giveaways.

Why Go: Learn about and celebrate this French national holiday in Piermont.  Period costumes, French and American music, food and games.  Streets will be closed to traffic.
