Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Why Go: Break up the monotomy of the day with a movie!

Why Go: Fill that tummy with yummy snacks while watching a free flick!

- Outdoor Concert

Where/When: Germonds Park, Wednesday, July 27 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Outdoor concert with with 50’s and 60’s music by “Adam and the NewHearts”

Where/When: Germonds Pool, Saturday, July 30, 8 a.m.

Why Go: Competitive swim meet for Clarkstown residents of all ages. Events for  masters, parents, 6-18 year olds, novices aged 3 to 5 and open events. Medals awarded to first three finishers in each age group.

- National Night Out and SK8 Night

Where/When: The Orangetown Police Department will participate in the National Night Out/Orangetown SK8 Night Program at Veterans Memorial Park (off Hunt Road in Orangeburg) on August 2 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: There will be a portable skateboarding park and rock climbing wall. Children of all ages are invited to attend. Young children can enjoy the large inflatable bouncy castles, and parents can have their child's car seat inspected for proper installation. The event will end with a fireworks display by Garden State Fireworks, Inc.

- Town of Orangetown Summer Concert Series

Where/When: Veteran's Memorial Park in Orangeburg; Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Alive N Kickin, one of the top bands in the New York Tri-State area, performs.

Pricing: Free. Bring your own blanket and lawn chair. 

Where/When: The Pearl River Public Library, 80 Franklin Avenue; Monday, August 1 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Miss Annadora will teach kids entering grades 1st through 3rd about Japanese pop culture and how to make candy sushi.

Pricing: Free, but registration is required. Register starting, Monday, July 25. Call 845.735-4084 or register in person in the Children’s Reading Room.
