Gun Buyback Brings Rockland Sheriff's Office 56 Firearms

The Sheriff's Office partnered with the Spring Valley and Ramapo Police departments and the New York State Police on the evening event.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Community Gun Buyback Thursday evening brought in 56 guns, Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco III announced.

The Sheriff's Office partnered with the Spring Valley and Ramapo Police departments and the New York State Police on the event at St. Joseph’s Church in Spring Valley.

"Gun violence continues to threaten the residents of Rockland County and our State," Falco said in the announcement. "Last evening, working with our partners in Spring Valley, Ramapo and the State Police we removed 56 firearms from our streets, guns that could have potentially been used in criminal and other violent acts. I will continue to partner with all of Rockland County law enforcement in our continuing efforts to keep the people of our County safe."
