Nanuet Bank Employee Accused in ID Theft, Larceny

Police allege he cooked up the scheme with a North Bergen, NJ resident.

NANUET, NY — The Clarkstown Police have arrested two men, Leslie Kommu of New City and Amit Jain of North Bergen, NJ, on charges related to a complicated scheme to defraud banks and individuals out of thousands of dollars.

Victims included a 24-year-old woman from Illinois and a 74-year-old woman from New City, police said.
Jain would provide information to Kommu who worked as an assistant bank manager at First Niagara Bank in Nanuet.

Both were involved in forging documents in order to secure lines of credit loans. A $25,000 account was opened in the name of the 24-year-old and an $8,000 account was opened in the name of the 74-year-old.
