During Sunday’s sultry afternoon with a giant American Flag waving in the slight breeze, the Nanuet High School class of 2013 graduated. Family and friends filled the seats under the massive white tent and stood watching the almost 200 seniors advance to the next chapter of their lives.
“Every exit is the entrance to the something else,” Class president Shavonne Davis told her soon-to-be former classmates.
Salutatorian Kristin Quill, who is headed to Cornell University, said everyone should look within himself or herself to find their strength and fighting spirit for the challenges that will arise.

National Merit Scholarship Winner and Valedictorian Brendan Dang spoke about some of his favorite scenes from the movie “Ratatouille” and how they served as metaphors to encourage people to not let fear of failure hold them back from trying new things.
The Johns Hopkins bound student shared advice from his parents that applied for all of them.
