Nanuet, other Rockland Schools Change Schedules in Storm's Aftermath

It's also going to be very cold Friday morning.

NANUET, NY — Several school districts in Rockland, Putnam and Westchester counties have announced delayed starts for Friday morning, in the aftermath of a snowstorm that dumped 10-14 inches across the region.

High winds, drifting snow, and icy roads are the primary factors.

Lakeland's Superintendent said he couldn't make the exact call yet.

"While I would like to make the Friday school decision tonight, I simply don't have enough information at this time.," George Stone wrote on the district's website. "Obviously, the schools will be on a delayed opening tomorrow, February 10. The town road crews still have a lot to do between now and morning. The official decision will be made at 5:00 am but schools at a minimum will be delayed at least two hours."
