New City Local Launches New Sports Merchandise Line (VIDEO)

Andrew Arcangel, of New City, is introducing something new to sports merchandise. His business, True Athelite, launched Monday night and offers shorts, shirts and shooting sleeves for basketball, which is the company's niche market.

"Upon graduating from Fordham University last year, I was offered two lucrative positions at successful companies, but they could not quell my passion for basketball and entrepreneurship," said Arcangel. "After receiving a surprise inheritance from my grandmother, all signs pointed to starting my own basketball sportswear company, which I named True Athelite."

He developed special technology for his sportswear, which combines odor proguard, UV shield and sweat technology. Watch his interview video with Patch to learn more about this technology.
