Public Input Needed for Nanuet Transit Oriented Development Project
Two workshops are taking place, one Saturday, one Monday.
NANUET, NY — The Town of Clarkstown is seeking public input on the Nanuet Transit Oriented Development Plan. Two workshops are scheduled, one for 10 a.m. Saturday and the second for 7 p.m. Monday.
The hamlet of Nanuet is uniquely poised for redevelopment, officials said. It is strategically located near the junction of the New York State Thruway, New York State Route 59, and the Metro North rail line operated by New Jersey Transit.
Also, Nanuet is a prime locale for housing, commuting, shopping and leisure. The plan may include: a new multimodal transit station on the existing line; mixed-use retail and office; residential units; pedestrian paths; pedestrian-friendly storefront streets; and parks.
